Business Process Reengineering
(BPR) has been defined in several ways, two of the most popular being:
"the analysis and design of workflows and
processes within and between organisations."
Davenport & Short 1994
"the critical analysis and radical
redesign of existing business processes to achieve breakthrough
improvements in performance measures."
Tang et al. 1994
So what does this mean to you? In simpler
language, BPR analyses an organisations procedures, discovers shortfalls and
any inefficiencies and an action plan developed to eliminate as many of
these shortfalls as possible.
We'll spend time with as many people as is
necessary within your organisation performing a full analysis to produce
an "as is" model of the way that the organisation currently operates. We
will then identify any potential improvements and present them to the key
players within your organisation. Remember, improvements could occur in
any area, from how team members communicate through to an investment in
IT.
